How to use it

  1. Choose long if you bought first, short if you sold first.
  2. Enter entry and exit prices.
  3. Enter the quantity (shares, coins or units).
  4. Enter the fee per side as a percentage (taker fees are often 0.05–0.1% on crypto exchanges).

The formula

Gross P/L = (Exit − Entry) × Qty (long) or (Entry − Exit) × Qty (short) · Net = Gross − fees on both sides

Long 0.25 BTC at $60,000, exit at $64,500, 0.1% fee per side: gross +$1,125, fees $31.13, net +$1,093.88 (+7.29%).

Fees add up

Fees are charged on the notional value at entry and at exit. On frequent, small moves they can consume a large share of gross profit.

ROI on position vs. on account

This calculator returns profit relative to the capital in the position. With leverage, your return on margin is higher — and so is your risk. Size positions by the amount you can lose, not by the return you hope for.

Use it before the trade too

Enter your target as the exit to see the net reward, then your stop to see the net loss. Their ratio is your real, after-fee reward-to-risk.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate crypto profit?

Multiply the price difference by the quantity, then subtract fees paid on both the buy and the sell. For shorts, the price difference is entry minus exit.

Does this include funding rates or taxes?

No. Perpetual futures funding, borrowing costs and taxes depend on your exchange and country, and are not included.

What is ROI in trading?

Return on investment: net profit divided by the capital used, expressed as a percentage.
